The art of criticism with Alison Croggon

The art of criticism with Alison Croggon

Friday, 10 November, 10 am – 4 pm

Criticism is a lot more than simply telling people your opinion. It is, above all, the art of paying attention. Alison Croggon will cover the building blocks of critique, showing you how to research, construct and write a critical response for a general audience. Explore the importance of analysing and questioning your subjective responses, and discover how uncertainty and doubt are often the door to understanding.

Alison Croggon was the 2009 Geraldine Pascall Critic of the Year, and has reviewed for the ABC and publications such as the Monthly and the Australian. From 2004 to 2012 she ran the influential critical blog Theatre Notes.
