How do you make your story part of the bigger picture? Whether you plan to be a human guinea pig or the protagonist leading an investigation, or you are writing straight memoir, this workshop will equip you with research techniques, safeguards for post-publication privacy, and narrative devices to crunch awkward timelines. Participants may submit up to 2000 words of a work in progress for discussion in class.

Jenny Valentish is the author of Woman of Substances: A Journey into Addiction and Treatment and has written first-person features for the Monthly, the Big Issue and the Age. She is the former editor of Time Out and Jmag.
